The field of acoustic engineering covers such diverse activities as architectural and building design, mechanical plant noise and vibration, environmental impact studies, industrial noise, transportation infrastructure, work health and safety studies, demolition and construction activities, blasting and building damage, machinery and structural vibration, modal and finite element analysis, and research and development studies.

The role of an acoustic engineer includes performing noise and vibration measurements in the field and laboratories, use of computer modelling for prediction and verification, design, client liaison, preparation of reports and documentation.
Career opportunities
Project Engineer
Engineering or science background with Degree or Masters qualifications
Minimum 2 years of experience in Building Acoustics and / or Environmental Acoustics
A desire to expand their knowledge and further develop their career in acoustics
Experience with instrumentation and data analysis
Experience with acoustic modelling and calculations
Senior Engineer
Engineering or science background with Degree or Masters qualifications
