Designed by Donovan Hill architects together with Ron Rumble Renzo Tonin as acoustic engineers, Santos Place opens as a new premium A grade office tower. It is Australia's largest certified 6 star green star (as built) building and has a 5 star NABERS target energy rating.
The building's 6 star green star (as built) rating and targeted 5 star NABERS rating are the highest available standards, representing World Leadership in environmental technology and sustainability. These features combine to 'future proof' the building, improving energy efficiency and reducing green house gas emissions by 60% when compared to conventional office buildings.
In recent review by Anthony Moults (acting head of architecture at the University of Queensland) and Sheona Thomson (lecturer at the Queensland University of Technology), they said "Santos Place directly offers what its corporate audience favours in terms of spatial status and more obliquely hands over a bag of other tricks for the enjoyment of the city a large."
