Renzo Tonin & Associates was involved in the acoustic design of the new UTS Faculty of Engineering and IT building which opened on 12 June 2014.
The total value of the project is $240m, including main works construction, demolition, excavation and consultant fees. UTS received both State and Federal Government support for the project, through $50 million in funding from the Australian Government, and $1.2 million from the NSW Government Department of Trade and Industry's Science Leverage Funding Program.
Denton Corker Marshall were the architects for the project and Lend Lease were the builders.
Interesting Facts:
The perforations in the screen encapsulating the façade are sized in binary code which translates "Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology". The rooftop incorporates wind turbines and solar panel technology to meet the sustainability objectives.
